My Approach: Hampshire Yoga Therapy
I am Sophia Armstrong and I offer a one to one holistic approach and tailored approach in a quiet and relaxed setting. Together we will explore various tools and create a simple and manageable practice that you can practice between and after sessions. The aim of these sessions is to empower you with a practice which will support you to restore a greater balance within your body, both physically, mentally and emotionally. My role is to guide and support you through this process.

A range of therapeutic yoga practices are used including breath-work (prana), meditation and mindfulness, simple movement based on yoga postures (asanas) and relaxation techniques all depending on your individual needs.
The initial consultation will begin with an in-depth intake assessment to gain a detailed understanding of your current health issues and your future goals. Some clients obtain sufficient tools and support from a single session, whereas others gain greater benefits from working together for a series of sessions to develop their yoga practice. No experience of yoga is necessary
I offer sessions face to face in my therapy room or online via zoom which allows the client flexibility depending on their schedule and location in the world. The first meeting will be an opportunity to meet each other and also include a comprehensive gathering of information both historical and current to obtain a full picture of your health issues. This will include a full medical history of any illnesses, injuries, past and current treatments, medication and supplements that you are taking. I am also interested in your daily activities concerning diet, activity, exercise and sleep. I will also be assessing your movement and breathing patterns and together with your priority concerns, I will develop a short yoga practice that you will be able to do at home between sessions.
I will take you through this practice and ensure that you are able to practice this safely before leaving the session. The follow up sessions will be looking at how you have managed the practice and how you are feeling. We will use these sessions to modify and refine elements of the practice where needed to ensure you are getting the most benefit from the yoga therapy.
Please dress in comfortable clothing that allows you to move and stretch freely.
