About Me: Hampshire Yoga Therapy

My passions are my work as a psychotherapist and my yoga practice. Since qualifying as a psychotherapist in 2018, I have discovered that I also draw on my experience as a yoga practitioner for my own self-care but also to help my clients. My yoga practice helps me to prepare myself before seeing clients and is also useful for some of my clients to learn breathing techniques, grounding exercises and mindfulness. This has been particularly helpful for my clients presenting with anxiety.

I have practiced yoga for 25 years and found it to be a crucial part of maintaining my own well-being, both physically and mentally.

Since beginning my own private psychotherapy practice in 2019, I have now decided to develop my business further by training as a yoga therapist. I have recently qualified as an accredited yoga therapist - C-IAYT. This now enables me to blend both work with the mind and the body where appropriate to help clients feel an increased holistic sense of well being within themselves.

Yoga therapy can offer a tailored yoga practice to improve physical, mental and emotional well-being and is designed to support your own specific health needs and challenges.

Yoga therapy is a complementary therapy and can work alongside other therapies and traditional medical treatment. It is based on a holistic approach to health. Research has shown that yoga has a range of benefits for various health conditions including reducing or relieving pain, discomfort and distress; helping to manage chronic conditions and enhancing a sense of well-being. Clients are provided with a home practice to support their well-being goals.
