My Approach to Yoga Therapy

How I work

My approach to yoga therapy is centred around you as an individual. Each session is shaped by your current health, lived experience and personal goals, rather than a fixed programme or set sequence of practices.

Sessions take place in a quiet and relaxed setting. Working together, we create a simple and manageable practice that feels supportive and realistic for you to use between sessions and beyond.

The intention is not to “do more”, but to help you restore balance within the body and nervous system - physically, mentally and emotionally. My role is to guide and support you through this process, adapting the work as your needs change.

A collaborative, one-to-one process

Practices used within sessions

Depending on your individual needs, sessions may include a combination of:

  • Breathwork (pranayama)

  • Gentle, adapted movement based on yoga postures (asanas)

  • Meditation and mindfulness practices

  • Relaxation and restorative techniques

Practices are always chosen with care, and there is no expectation of prior yoga experience.

The first session includes an in-depth intake assessment to build a clear picture of your health and wellbeing. This covers both current and past factors, including:

  • Health concerns, injuries and medical history

  • Past and current treatments, medication and supplements

  • Daily activities such as diet, movement, exercise and sleep

  • Observation of breathing and movement patterns

Together, we identify your priority concerns and intentions, which form the foundation of your ongoing yoga therapy practice.
